Bellinis!!!

Just recently bought the ingredients to make an Earls White Peach Bellini...

The drink is so hard to mix. They just posted the ingredients to make it, but they don't tell you how much of each to put in. :(

More practice for me I guess :)

Here's the recepie for the White Peach Bellini.
appleton estate vx rum, white wine, peach syrup and peach liqueur, sangria |

Rain, rain, rain, rain and more rain!

I know it's seems like I'm whining, but seriously... too much rain! For the southern American's who are reading this, I'm sorry. I would love for this rain to move over there and for yours to move up here. Every day, there is rain, and it's getting a bit overwhelming. Our basement water pump has never stopped pumping water out.. We've collected over 50L of water!

Hope this rain stops soon!!!!

Our World is Ever Changing...

Wow, did anyone see the news?! Oslo downtown bombing, and massive shooting at a camp - on a island a few hours outside of Oslo, Norway.

Apparently, the Christian, right-wing extremists, bombed downtown Oslo, then made his way to the Youth Camp. He changed into a police uniform, and gained trust from the youths. Many thought it was a hoax; shortly after, he opened fire. Over 98 youth campers are dead.

My prayers goes out to the Country of Norway - for those who lost loved ones.

On the lighter side, Simple Plan's Warped Tour launched.

As well, heat-wave and droughts on the eastern and southern border of the U.S. I wish we can take some of the U.S.' heat! I mean, it's been raining here every second day! And those pesky mosquitos!!! Fuck!!!

The former "Klondike Days" have began. The "Capital Ex" exhibition is running July 21-31, the longest festival in Canada!

Have a fantastic July!

Happy Belated Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day! Yesterday was the "official" Canada Day, but because of work, I had no time to post. Ugh, work was so dead yesterday, then all of a sudden, 10 minutes before closing - 2 people had to order; 1 driver, and the locations of their house was in opposite directions. We closed at 1AM, and we didn't leave until 1:30AM!!! Fuck this shit! Lol.

I'm just wondering, can people order a bit earlier prior to closing?! Sheesh. I don't want to stay in that dumpster of a store for longer than needed. Definitely quitting after summer!

As for today, back to that shitty workplace!

Errands

Hmm, I guess every guy loves to drive! Pretty fun today; Just going to a doctors appointment (not fully better yet), then going to London Drugs, then to the bank, back to London Drugs to pick up perscriptionss, then finally home!
All in all, it took 2 hours! Geez. Appointment to see the doctor was at 11:10; he didn't see me till 11:35. Went downstairs to London Drugs, and had to wait 20 mins for the medicine. I decided to go to the bank to save time (during the wait). The line was so god damn long! Maybe cause it's Canada Day tomorrow, and everywhere else is closed; except us. And that took possibly 30 mins. I went back to London Drugs for my perscription and then drove back home!!

All in 2 hours... What an eventful day. Now it's just work at 5!! Lovely.

Phlegm, Phlegm, and more PHLEGM!!

Firstly, why is the word "Phlegm" spelt that way? where the "ph" sounds like an "f" and the "g" is silent?! "Flem." Anyways, I don't think throughout my entire life that I've coughed up that much Phlegm!!! It's disgusting - the mucus-y green/yellow color... It's kind of disgusting actually.

Rain, go away!

Edmonton received 90+mm of rain between Saturday and Monday... (that's equivalent to a month's worth!)

Sick (as in cool..)

Photo: Arron J. Reed

Flu

Being sick sucks! But seriously, who doesn't get sick. However, it's kind of strange that I got sick around this time last year as well. Last year's fever was much worse. Up to 39•c and it happened when I was on a tour to Singapore and Malaysia! And it so happened that it was caused from a throat infection too!! This is too coincidental!!!

Time to get some rest,
Kevin

Gloomy

For 3 days, the skies in Edmonton are filled with grey- dreary clouds. Oh where, oh where did our sun has gone?!

To make things worse, I've been working for 9 days now... Today is my 10th.... I just want to quit so bad... I'm definitely leaving after the summer holidays though! I can't stand making pizza, being rushed, and sweating all day around the oven.

Hope your day is better than mine :)

Somewhat. Disappointing.

As many of you know, yesterday's Stanley cup playoffs was won by the Boston Bruins. Though, many Vancouverites are not finding that news, pleasant.
Photo: Vancouver Sun

Riots began after the brutal defeat of the 4-0 match. Many fans and anarchists took it to the streets (Vancouver Sun). As the sun began to rise in Vancouver, many Vancouverites we're alarmed upon the first sight of their destroyed downtown. Bottles, glass, burned vehicles - littered the streets. Mannequins we're thrown into fashion stores; such as H&M.
Photo: Vancouver Sun

I find these headlines very true:

"No, it is not another G20 protest — somebody lost an ice-hockey match." - London Daily Mail
"In Syria, they riot for freedom. In Pakistan, they riot against U.S. drone strikes. In China, they riot over many things, most recently in Guangdong province for worker's rights. But in Canada, which is officially ranked as one of the wealthiest and most peaceful nations in the world, they riot over, yes, hockey." - Washington's The Atlantic

Game 7: Bruins!

Bummed out by the Canucks loss, since I'm a Canadian afterall. But good job Bruins. I'm trapped between 4 white walls at work... making pizza... gross!
Just 1.5 more hours to go!!!!!! Please time, go by faster!

I recently went to Jasper. Some pictures are uploaded on my flickr page. We saw mountain goats! So magnificent!
We were going to go to Banff in 2 weeks, but it's going to rain, so the Muttart Conservatory will have to do I guess.

Also in 2 weeks, it's time to finish my tattoo half sleeve! Super excited!

Congratulations to the Newly Wedded

Congrats Will and Kate. You two look so sweet and cute together. I really don't think that what happened with prince Charles and princess Diana will happen to you two. It was so festive and of course royal. The royal wedding took place at Westminster Abbey in London, England at 11:00 BST (04:00 MST). Guests arrived as early as 3 hours prior to the procession. David and Victoria Beckcham, Elton John, and 1900 more guests were invited to take part in this special event. Too bad I wasn't there. I would make the place more livelier lol.

2 of my other friends also stayed up to watch history unfold. Being dpectators and may I say excellent commentators, we struggled to stay awake. With comments, and caffeine, we were able to accomplish our all nighter for the first time in a very long time. One of my friends barely saw the couple kiss!!!

Spring is Finally Here!

March 21, 2011 was the official day of spring. Obviously that isn't the actual day of spring in Edmonton of course. To me, there is just 3 seasons in the city of Edmonton... Spring, Fall and Winter. Winter takes up 7/12 of the year; fall takes up 2/12, and spring takes up 3/12. There is a possibility of 2-3 days of summer like weather (30C+), though this is a "RARE" occasion.

Leaving the house at 10:10, the temperature was already 10C. A little breezy, but warm. I do not believe the snow is going to come back. *Fingers crossed* Personally, I like snow only when I go skiing, other than that, no snow please! (Just the mountains is good enough for me!) Since everything's thawing out right now, the sidewalks and roadways are filled with sand and dirt (from winter), and now are whisping around in the wind, and not to mentioning blowing in my face when cars goes by. Dirt doesn't taste good by the way, just throwing it out there...

And once spring is here, construction season is here too! It lasts in spring and the fall. I hate construction; so loud and obstructive.

I think I should go to bed now... I have to fill in my application then hand it into HBC before someone takes the job!!! Ahh!!!

Goodnight everyone!

Job Hunting

Well after all that job searching on canadas website, I realized I wasted half of my life. I'm not interested in 1000 jobs that it provided me with. But thanks to my friend, Ada, I might be working at The Hudsons Bay Company (TheBay). Seems kinda cool. I just have to fill out the application form and hope I get a call back from the manager..

Tattoo Hormone Kicks In Once Again

Wow. After exams, and with nothing to do, I'm pumped of getting another tattoo. I don't know why society frowns upon tattoos. Fuck 'em. Though I'm still hiding my tattoo from my parents. Haha. Asians and tattoos don't mix. So why do I have a tattoo? I guess I'm the odd one. LOL. Idk. I think of tattoos as a piece of art. Plus it looks fuckin' cool. I found some more neat tattoos on flickr. I love Flickr, best photo-sharing site ever. Definitely getting something similar to this over the summer holidays.

The 4 Month Holiday Begins!

Even though University is stressful as hell, I guess the con to all of this is that we get a 4 month vacay from all this madness... Unless you're unfortunate and take spring or summer courses though.

So far, I got 3 grades for the 5 courses so far... and they're pretty good. 2 B+, and 1 B... So current GPA is 3.20. I'm scared for MGTS and ENGL though... Please let them be B+!!!!

Now that my classes have ended, there's more time for Chinese dramas, and The Amazing Race. Still can't believe that Mallory and Gary almost got eliminated last week. Hopefully they will win. They're such a happy and optomistic team. Rumor has it that they will win!!!! As for Chinese dramas, you guys should watch 《點解阿Sir係阿Sir》. The first two episodes are pretty corny, but come the third episode, the story starts to pick up. It stars Moses Chan, Ron Ng, and Linda Yeung.

Sorry I haven't been blogging for like a month, but exams are stressful. Now that school's out, hopefully I would be able to post more stuff - that and work of course. Still need to find a new job. Any suggestions?

Thoughts and Prayers go out to Japan

Japan is a country located on the Northeastern part of Asia where the Pacific Plate meets the Eurasian Plate. The border of the Pacific plate is known as the "Ring of Fire" due to the many volcanic activities that are caused by the shifting of the Pacific plate. Japan is known for earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, as the plate which lies to the east of Japan is unstable - causing the plates to shift. Although Japan experiences earthquakes, nearly none of them can be compared to that of today's. Japan experienced a 8.9 Earthquake, ranked top 9 earthquakes in history.

(Tsunami updates will be posted)
Coastal Areas of the following Countries/States are to be evacuated:
-California State
-Washington State
-Hawaii State
Countries/States where Tsunami Warning has been lifted:
-South America (continent)
-China
-Phillipines

Many people are suffering without power and the lives of many are lost. My thoughts and prayers goes out for Japan and that hopefully, fire crews can save lives from the rubble.

I Am Number 9784131210-A

As you may not know, I am also an alien that came from another planet named Landorf. Yes, I possess many of the powers demonstrated by "Jon Smith."

Bahaha. No disrespect - but the movie was quite good. The lizard, who transformed into a dog, who transformed into a monster, was kind of cool. Hahaha. I thought it was the antagonist, but he was on Number 4's side (Jon Smith). Surprisingly, Jon ditches his crush, and I was really shocked. She should've tagged along, instead of being left in Paradise, Ohio. But the one thing that made me depressed was the school! Like, although the monsters from the planet vanishes into a cloud of ash, the school was left like a nuclear bomb has exploded on the site. I mean, what would the principal say, waking up the next morning and seeing his school ripped to shreads?! The students would be like: Fuck Yeah, no school, well - maybe the teachers too for not having to deal with those rotten teenage kids.

And after that fiasco, wouldn't the whole world population know about these aliens now? I mean, the numerous spectators that witnessed the whole monsters, and Number 4's power demonstration at his crush's house - did I mention they captured the events on their cell phones?!

The movie ends leaving the viewers with a possiblity of a sequel - saying that Number 4 and Number 6, must reunite with the others to defeat the opposing forces... and they're bringing Sam, the dude that has been bullied in school for his belief in aliens, and his (real) dad was captured by aliens, but we all know in the middle of the movie, got killed by the opposing forces.

The Amazing Race 18

The Amazing Race is back on CTV (CBS in the US). The season premiere was tonight, which was broadcasted in HD for the first time ever.

The Amazing Race 18: Unfinished Business casts contestants from previous seasons, namely Seasons 12 - 17. The teams are:

a. Amanda & Kris
b. Gary & Mallory
c. Flight Time & Big Easy
d. Jamie & Cara
e. Jet & Cord
f. Kent & Vyxsin
g. LaKisha & Jennifer
h. Margie & Luke
i. Mel & Mike
j. Ron & Christina
k. Zev & Justin

More information can be found on the CBS website, which the link will be provided below.

Today began the first of the twelve weeks of racing around the world. To us is twelve weeks, but to them it's just twenty-ish days (give or take). This seasons, teams will be flying to Australia, Japan, China, India, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Brazil, then finally back to the US (not particularly in that order). A results table is posted on Wikipedia, which the link will also be provided below.

I will post them here as well.

LEG 1 (Part I) - Palm Springs, California, United States (San Gorgonio Pass Wind Farm) (Starting Line)
- Los Angeles (Los Angeles International Airport) to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia (Sydney Airport)
- Sydney (Circular Quay - Sydney Ferries) to Manly (Manly Wharf)
- Manly (Oceanworld Manly)
- Manly (Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club)
- Manly (Shelly Beach)
-
In the Race's first Roadblock, one team member had to scuba dive in the Oceanworld shark and ray tank and search the tank for a compass. The compass included a guide to read a series of nautical flags outside which told them to go to the Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club, find the Commodore, and tell him the passphrase "I am between the Devil and the deep blue sea" to receive their next clue.

Additional tasks Before receiving their first clue, teams had to search through hundreds of paper airplanes for one airplane that matched the clue "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services" (the full name of Qantas Airways). The first eight teams to get the right airplane would be on a flight that left 90 minutes before the last 3 teams. The last team to find the correct airplane would also be penalized by having to perform a U-Turn on the Leg. At the sailing club, teams had to join a sailing crew and ride a 16ft Skiff through a race course to a series of buoys that had their next clue. (Text taken from Wikipedia)

1st. Gary & Mallory (Won Express Pass)
2nd. Amanda & Kris
3rd. LaKisha & Jennifer

LEG 2 (Part II)
- Broken Hill, NSW, Australian Outback
- (content missing)
- Sydney Airport to Tokyo, Japan (Narita International Airport)
- Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture

Evacuation of the Bell Tower

Something happened in the Bell Tower 2 days ago that caused massive evacuation, as firefighters were on scene.

Businessmen and women littered the parking lots including that of Staples.

We don't know what the cause of the evacuation was, but I just thought it was interesting. February 15, 2011 (Bell Tower, 101 St, 104 Av)
Also from 2 days ago, there was a manhole repair in effect on 97 St, a main artery into Edmonton's downtown area from the North side of the city. It's already busy without the repairs, but now with it... it looks like New York... February 15, 2011 (Facing South, 97 St, 124 Av) February 15, 2011 (Facing North, 97 St, 124 Av)

Delays only affecting Northbound Traffic. Please use alternate routes! Have fun! Hehe.

The Day of a University Student

Let's start when I wake up.

Kevin's Daily Schedule:
06:45 - Wake up (Fuck!)
06:46 - Shower (Mmm)
06:56 - Eat Breakfast
07:10 - Get Dressed for College
07:15 - Leave House
07:20 - In Transit (and beacause this is the Frozen Tundra Country, so it's freezing ass off time)
07:45 - Arrive at School (approx. 15 minutes till shit begins)
08:00 - First Class (must have coffee)
10:00 - Class Ends (~14:00 on Tue/Thu)
10:00/14:00 - In Transit
10:30/14:30 - Making Noodles
12:00/16:30 - Homework

Yep, that's how my daily routine is... pretty boring huh? Well the basic needs of surviving college is studying and doing homework! And what are the essentials you need for completing these tasks? Coffee, Nestea, and Noodles!
1. Drink a cup of coffee (I get XL size...)
2. In between classes, especially for those long classes (over 1 hr long), buy a bottle of Nestea (the original or the green tea flvr is pretty good)
3. When you're at home and you need to cram and shit, make instant noodles. Mmm. Fast and delicious!
Fuck my noodles are so yummy, and irresistible!

Keep on studying!
Kevin
