Riots began after the brutal defeat of the 4-0 match. Many fans and anarchists took it to the streets (Vancouver Sun). As the sun began to rise in Vancouver, many Vancouverites we're alarmed upon the first sight of their destroyed downtown. Bottles, glass, burned vehicles - littered the streets. Mannequins we're thrown into fashion stores; such as H&M.

I find these headlines very true:
"No, it is not another G20 protest — somebody lost an ice-hockey match." - London Daily Mail
"In Syria, they riot for freedom. In Pakistan, they riot against U.S. drone strikes. In China, they riot over many things, most recently in Guangdong province for worker's rights. But in Canada, which is officially ranked as one of the wealthiest and most peaceful nations in the world, they riot over, yes, hockey." - Washington's The Atlantic

Note to self: When moving to Vancouver, don't live in downtown!
